Traffic stop leads to metro Denver man facing marijuana charges

There are many different things that traffic stops conducted by police can lead to. Sometimes, such stops lead to a person facing drug crime allegations. Serious criminal charges can be brought against an individual in connection to allegations of having committed drug crimes. If a person is found guilty of drug crime charges, they can face severe consequences.

Recently, a drug crimes case has come up in Colorado.

The case involves a 37-year-old metro Denver man. On Tuesday, the man was driving a motor vehicle in Elbert County. According to authorities, he was driving well above the speed limit. Police then pulled the man over.

Authorities say that, during this traffic stop, police smelled a marijuana odor coming from the man's vehicle. According to authorities, police then conducted a search and found marijuana. Authorities say that the marijuana appeared to be packaged in a way that was intended for distribution and totaled out to about 10 pounds.

Police then arrested the 37-year-old man. He faces charges of possession with the intent to distribute, possession of more than 12 ounces of marijuana and speeding. One wonders what will happen in this marijuana crimes case as it progresses.

There are a wide variety of things that it can be very important to carefully review in drug crime cases. One such thing are the details of any traffic stop or vehicle search police conducted in connection to the case. If it is found that police engaged in conduct which violated a person's rights during a traffic stop or vehicle search, it can result in evidence that was found as a result of such violations being tossed out.
